Presentation in Locarno at the SSRE conference

The project and simulation games were presented at the end of June in Locarno as part of the SSRE conference entitled Transversal competencies in education and training: from discourses to practices, within the panel Citizenship Education and Democracy. The presentation not only provided an opportunity to present some of the analysis of data collected in classrooms in the experimental phase, but also allowed for interesting parallels to be drawn with other work underway at DFA/ASP and SUFFP in Lugano.

Presentation in Cagliari at the Third International Conference of the journal “Scuola Democratica”

The project and related simulation games were presented in early June in Cagliari at the Third International Conference of the journal “Scuola Democratica” on “Education and/for social justice” within the panel Democratic culture and the internationalisation of school education. The presentation was an opportunity to present part of the analysis of the data collected in classrooms in the experimental phase.

Teaching simulations

Between March and June 2024, teaching simulations were tested in 7 middle school classes and 3 vocational education classes by 8 teachers. The subjects involved are history-ECCD, geography and Italian. In addition to conducting the simulations, teachers and classes were asked to fill out a form, focus groups were also conducted in classrooms and interviews were conducted with the teacher(s).

Participation in the iGU-CGE conference “Geography Education for the Anthropocene” with a presentation by Marco Lupatini and Andrea Plata: “Which Role does Geography Education Play in Educating Citizens for the Anthropocene’s Era?”
